      For a second consecutive day, Greece is in the grip of the first heatwave in summer 2025 with temperatures reaching over 42 degrees Celsius in some parts of the country.Heatwave conditions and extreme heat stress in parts of the country until Saturday, June 28, 2025.

      According to meteorologists, the heatwave conditions and extreme heat stress are forecast to prevail until Saturday, June 28, while temperature drop down to 8 degrees Celsius is expected in the days to follow starting as of Sunday, June 29, 2025.

      The peak of the extreme heat is forecast to be on Friday, June 27

      I always see ppl make “catastrophology” on our climate, truth is ppl on Reddit don’t go out often, yes it’s hot, yes it may be unbearable for many of you yet I enjoy it. We talk of normal temps not this extreme one. Like normal is around 30 maybe 33 degrees for peak temps.Not denying climate change either but ppl here be coping on how we’re supposed to move in the future bcs of heatwaves yet things are mostly exaggerated plus we have plenty of mountains with rivers etc if we desperately want to seek low temperatures and don’t wanna swim in the sea. Disasters happen of course but summer is still easily the least stressful time of the year for normal ppl, I only see this weird fetish with cold weather on Reddit (snow is fun no deny, but rain all year round ? No way…only if I grew up in such place and have special ties to it, and not dismissing any area those rainy places are lush and beautiful!)

      Visited Parga in August last year.

      Taxi driver told us it was too hot even for them and like being in Africa.

      Moved this years trip to September to avoid the heat.

      I know ill be mocked for this but In Ireland like the last two weeks or so, it was over 26-28 degress, I could not handle it and started dreading seeing the sun, phones slow down, my vape over heats, PC slows down just makes life more difficult in general, enjoyed it for like 5 days and then I was done.

      For the last 3 days or so its been drizzly and over cast and a lot cooler and I am loving it.

      Remember: Sunglasses, Sun cream and lots of water – stay safe everyone.

      The thing is, not only are these phenomena inescapable for several decades to come, they’ll only worsen over time. Southern Europe have it worse, we literally won’t be able to come out of our houses in a decade’s or two time. People who work construction or in kitchens and every similar environment, actually suffer to earn their wage.

      I’m on Corfu at the moment, and sea temperatures in Messonghi are piss warm, today it’s 30°C. Last week sea temperature was 28°C. And this was up to 2m depth 😅
