We need scanners in shops/restaurants to decide if a person is obese or not. If obese then food credits revoked.

The energy in one is what everyone will talk about – and on an individual level that’s usually the most important element.
On a population level though, energy out also matters a lot. It’s notable the countries in red here are those which are increasingly car-centric for growing numbers of the population. If you can’t live in walkable neighborhoods then your calories out absolutely plummets, and over time that catches up to you.
You can see that becoming a problem in Ireland too, as more and more people live in one off housing and in sprawling estates where there are no amenities within walking distance.
Optimistically I do think the upcoming generation are far more aware and into fitness and healthy eating then the ones that proceeded them.
I’m a post primary teacher and “gym membership” is top of the list for Christmas presents- I will say teen only gyms or set hours for teenagers would be nice though!!
