You can name who it is. If they posted the video of their actions for all to see then what’s the harm in sharing the video here? It was their choice to upload it.
Who was this?

We demand names!!!! WE DEMAND NAMES!!!!!!
“Not naming any names as people shouldn’t be held accountable for their actions” /s
The worst for me are those who make an eejit out of their elderly grandparents
Some people will do anything for likes and shares. Cards on the table too, influencer just seems a nicer or PC word word for shiller.
I can’t watch the video as I am not on TikTok. It is not a platform I have an interest in engaging with.
They’re mostly toxic I’d say. The ones that just tell people to respect themselves and be healthy, are decent mostly but they’re few and far between
Mostly the premise is to use your aesthetic to prey on people’s lack of self confidence or self worth and get them to try emulate this fake life you show them by buying consumer products, often sub par shite but at a premium. Remember the people who used to be on late at night selling blenders, tacky jewellery or fukn treadmills or whatever back in the 80/90’s? Reall high octane pushy marketing shows that were sleazy and low brow? Well that’s evolved now to what we know today
Anyway to play this without installing tiktok?
A lot of rubbish on tikTok
Plus they are all going out now to get enough followers so they can flog absolute shit from the “TikTok shop” which is all I get these days when I log onto TikTok so I think it will have to be deleted again soon
A lot of wasters on it, total wasters
An influencer is a narcissist with engagement. Ignore at all possible until they vanish into irrelevance.

Nah it’s an actual issue. Saw a viral video earlier of a “baby’s first car wash” which was essentially parents subjecting the baby to a torment it can’t understand, just for content. People will do anything for clicks/views.
It’s a consequence of the industry that if you’re making content you have to see everything you do as potential content. Social media is oversaturated with people trying to get attention that they need to embellish their lives or blow things out of proportion to seem more interesting. I think as well if you live your life through this mindset you ultimately end up ploughing through reasonable boundaries and etiquette around posting people online.
A lot of toxic people are drawn to social media, even some of the ones that you think are good can be pretty crappy people to privately
TikTok videos no longer play if you don’t download the app and I refuse to do so, so no comment on this specific one.
That said, I got stuck on an asshole streamer’s video as he tried to drum up some sort of content when I was just trying to get somewhere on the luas. 1) they were clearly not right in the head and, 2) I’m beginning to think it should be socially acceptable to knock people’s cameras out of their hands if they decide to stream in public, recording people who didn’t consent to be part of their “influencer” or monetization attempts.
It’s not newsworthy, it’s not citizen journalism, and legit filming gives prior notice and gets signed release forms.
A lot of the same influencers will harp on about mental health awareness and preaching kindness but refuse to apply that principle to their own behaviours
she may be harmless but it seems like she was harassing the person taking pictures. its her right to not have to deal with that & record for her safety. i dont understand what the fuss is about
I’m not going to add to the viewer numbers for that tictoc.
Right in my job, I’m held accountable for my work.
Instagramers and TikToc-ers are not. The ASI can’t fine them. So there is no incentive to do things correct. Slap on the wrist…continue on.
When something is said to them….the anxiety and depression cards come out.
This is why tattle came to be! People got fed up of them not being held accountable. Then tattle went WAY to far.
There is one instagramer who now uses the term “menty b”. Yeah mental breakdown is not funny and not to be mocked. Yet the second she is called out, anxiety card.
They all need to fuck of!
She’s a muppet ! Full of herself ! Wouldn’t be entertaining anything like that !
What I hate about all this is while it’s very right indeed to call out the shit behaviour, we’re all amplifying the reach of this influencer by doing so. This is another reason in the pile of reasons why anonymous Reddit is the only social platform I use.
Influencers are the dregs of society
monetised narcissism
A lot of influencers are in it to monetise, to make money from their followers.
And the desire for money and this lifestyle they are showing leads to some just not being completely trustworthy or honest. Some might sell any piece of crap as ‘the best thing ever!’ because they no longer view their followers as people, but customers.
Some behave in a toxic manner to everyone, then film it with bias, for content, to drive up their views and engagement which in turn creates more opportunities for money making.
This disingenuous behaviour is what prompted tattle life, it was a space to call out the grifters and liars on sm.
Of course some people took it too far. But that’s how things go.
View everything through a lens, employ critical thinking and these shysters won’t get to you.
My cousin tried turning me on to some wanker in the UK who hassles people in the high street and uploads it without their permission.
Definitely not my cup of tea.
They’re freeloading shills who’ll sell their soul for attention.
A reason why I don’t want the TikTik creator fund to come to Ireland. The majority of content that gets traction on tiktok and online is outrage, negative, bullying, harassment type content. Yer man Garon Noone trying to push for it is extremely irritating.
I don’t want people who already go around filming people of colour in Ireland for scaremongering to start getting paid for it.
You’d have to have a perception of a plank not to see how it would make the country more toxic.
Ive worked in social media since 2017. It’s the same shtick. Some people rise to the top but they should not be there whatsoever. They get popular because of their fashion or humour but behind all that they aren’t a well-rounded person or just don’t have the life experience to be a role model or someone of influence. I hate when They haven’t a bone of self-awareness in their bodies. They become out of touch when they get a bit of money or attention. That’s where I feel they detach from reality and their roots disappear into the void.
This self-righteous attitude some of them have makes me sick too. Like “I’ve my XYZ amount of money and worked with ABC, Im the shit and you can’t tell me otherwise”. Fair dues for having milestones in your job but like are you well in the head, you’re not famous. Famous means every member of a family knows who you are from granny to tween. You aren’t even in the top letters of celebrity tiers.
Others are self-aware and know their lanes and stay within them without stifling their content or whatever they do online.
Saw a clip recently of a guy doing something similar. There was no sound, so everything is based on body language and what you can see.
This gobshite was caught on camera in a takeaway restaurant camera throwing money onto the ground (a tip or the bill money) in front of the waitress who had just put his soup on the table. He gestures pick that up, while filming her on his phone. You could tell he was trying to demean and ridicule her. She had just served him soup.
So she goes to pick it up but her boss who’d obviously seen this comes in and ushers her away, and I think he tells her to take the soup back from the table. He’s having no truck with the idiot.
He then starts giving out to the guy filming who in turn seems to be denying he threw the money on the ground and has the “who me?” hands out, and is attempting to blame the wait staff for it.
Until the manager points to the store camera (the view we’re looking at), the teen suddenly changes gear, picks up the money from the ground and walks out, making a gesture and a comment at the manager.
Utter scumbag. No shame.
These people are wastes of space, have nothing to contribute to society and have no compunction about using others to promote themselves.
Another trend that annoys me is performative acts of charity where they put some mood music on and film themselves giving a sandwich to a homeless person and have subtitles like “John hasn’t eaten a meal in several weeks…” or other stunts that like your post says, taking advantage of vulnerable people for their own gain.
Influencer = Grifter, the term Influencer is too legitimate for what they are.
Influencers and addicts actually have much in common, both are utter narcissists focusing all of their attention on what they want at that moment over all else.
Both should be ignored.
