It’s far too expensive for tourists coming here. There is very little value anymore. Fleeced on hotel prices especially when there’s gigs on in Dublin which is every night this time of year. Fleeced on food and drink.
Yes the rich yanks will still come but believe me outside of exclusive hotels and a exclusive restaurants they will spend fuck all.

It’s definitely nothing to do with everything being extortionately expensive or the fact that on most weekends, it would be cheaper to spend the weekend on a European city break than a night in Dublin.

This isn’t a bad thing but the reasons for it are bad.

There’s millions to be made off housing migrants year round. So why would it make economical sense to keep catering to seasonal tourism?
Instead of tourism money there’s plenty of tax payer money to be had.
And the less hotels there are because of migrants, the higher the hotel prices become for tourists. It’s basic economics. There’s no incentive to cater to tourists anymore.
Remember this as more businesses that rely on tourism start to shut their doors.

Ireland is a rip off. People who come here from abroad are not blind to the rubbish in our cities, shit infrastructure, poor roads and high prices. I’m not convinced we are clear eyed enough about the value proposition of positioning ourselves at Nordic price levels both for tourism and as a society without the tangible results to back that. It’s not just apparent to Irish people.
I love Ireland but it has major flaws and some are more apparent than ever

Apparently, holidaying in an expensive country is a turnoff in most countries. Someone let Falite Ireland know.

European city breaks/beach breaks are often cheaper than a few nights somewhere in Ireland.
