They’re illegal immigrants, should be deported. (/ irony)

      A couple of choice quotes:

      ‘He lost all his papers’

‘On a regular basis he receives calls from Brits who have lost their passports, run out of money and are unable to return to the UK.’

Jodie said: ‘I went back to England and when I asked for benefits they wouldn’t give them to me because I had been out the country for too long, and now I’ve come home [to jSpain] and I’m an illegal immigrant.’

Imagine if this was people who come to the UK , the tone of the article would be so different. How are all these people losing their passports? It sounds dodgy AF to me.

‘There’s nothing, you can’t find anything, you see people on social media doing a flat share, you’re looking at €400 to €200 a week for a room in a shared house. ‘The average worker is on €1100 a month, so how’s anyone supposed to survive?

That not unusual in the uK, try London…

    3. The article talks about exploitation but doesn’t care to address just who are the culprits. I’ve got my guesses but you’d think an actual journalist piece would deliver more than “here’s some homeless Brits” but then again I understand this is an ass rag of a news site.

    4. Wait, the DAILY MAIL published this?

I’ve just died from an irony overdose.

      > She eventually returned, but then found out she was no longer legally able to reside in Spain – making it impossible to find a job

The irony of this piece…they don’t extend to same concern to foreigners (or even British!) sleeping rough in the UK…

If they don’t have a passport, they can get a new one. If they want to fly home to the UK, you can get an emergency travel document from the embassy.

If they don’t have status in the EU, they should be removed to the UK.

If they have a passport, are legal residents in the EU but are just broke. That’s unlucky. If you can’t get a job there maybe try somewhere else.

Bloody foreigners! Coming to Spain and trying to sponge off the system!

If you ‘lose your passport’ you go to the embassy and get an emergency passport. If you don’t have the money to pay for it and are stranded abroad, you still go to the embassy for advice. You don’t just start sleeping rough in a foreign country?

How inhumane the Spanish are for not spending the euro equivalent of £41k per head annually on these people to put them up in hotels.

I guess we’re meant to feel sorry for the British illegal immigrants then, daily mail?
