Leman, a popular satirical magazine in Turkey, depicts Muhammad and the Hebrew counterpart Moses exchanging meeting: “Salam aleikum” and “aleikum shalom” as missiles pour into a city in the background. Dozens of men armed with sticks, allegedly close to IBDA-C, an Islamist terrorist organziation, attempted to break into the office located in Beyoğlu.

Calling for Islamic Revolution and the closure of the magazine, the terrorists assaulted and injured random civilians drinking in surrounding bars – the Turkish National Police special operations teams are en route.

While the government enacted extreme precautions to hinder the Istanbul Pride, the terrorist group could go through the heavily monitored Beyoğlu. Three employees of the magazine were also arrested, at the direction of the Minister of Justice, for ‘humiliating public values.’

That behavior has no part in civilized culture. Punish them hard and put a censorship sticker on their mouths.
