>“This is a separate offence to corporate manslaughter and focuses on the grossly negligent action or inaction of individuals. It is important to note that this does not impact on the convictions of Lucy Letby for multiple offences of murder and attempted murder.
Surely this will depend on what exactly led to gross negligence? Is it because they deliberately ignored/directly contributed to the awful conditions the neo-natal wards were in, or is it because they deliberately ignored the warnings Letby’s colleagues gave to them? If it’s the former then Letby’s conviction is even more likely to be unsafe, if it’s the latter then it’s the opposite.

About damn time, how the hell did they get away with the obvious negligence in the first place?

Because I know this case has a lot of weird fangirls.
This is not good for Letby, it’s suggests managers knew or ought to have known she was killing babies.

No this doesn’t mean she’s innocent and it doesn’t mean the police think she’s innocent.

For some idea of what the context of this might be. During the inquiry the assistant coroner testified that they (the coroners) were not informed about the hospital’s suspicions about Letby when investigating. He was extremely critical of this, since it materially changes how they would have investigated (i.e. they would have went to the police instead of conducting a standard report). It was pointed out that misleading a coroner during investigation is akin to misleading a court.

Yeah, mindless speculation and axe grinding isn’t helpful.
Just let the police get on with their jobs.

I think hospitals should have cameras. Just use that technology that blurs the faces except for the staff.

The higher ups from CoCH will be squeezing their arseholes shut seeing this.

Not surprised hopefully it’s the one who tried to cover it up

It doesn’t mean she’s any more or less innocent or guilty than she is.
These are separate charges because safeguarding and patient safety concerns were not appropriately dealt with. Staff concerns were not actioned or investigated.
Regardless of Lucy’s culpability, there are deaths that were avoidable

Regardless of whether LL did it or not, I’m not convinced either way, the death rate and circumstances definitely need criminal investigations.
Something isn’t right. If LL did it, they should have caught it. If she didn’t do it, they should have realised something was wrong regardless.
