Historical Mtkvari flooded a lot so it’s good that we have Zahesi and Ortachalahesi to help regulate water levels in and around the city. But it’s an absolute shame that we have the embankment highways instead of the historical waterfront. So much of Tbilisi’s character and history was lost when those were made. And now there’s virtually no place in the whole city where we can have a waterfront. The highways turn Mtkvari into an obstacle, instead of the lifeblood of the city as it used to be
