It’s not a big deal anymore. Yesterday, Islamists almost killed a man whose cartoon was misunderstood. And they took over the entire police and army. Democracy will never return to Turkey. I hope Erdogan doesn’t kill too many people to keep his seat, that’s the only hope.

    2. This already proved to have little to no impact, the government doesn’t care about some people speaking loudly and angry while raising some flags, it’s the sad reality

Nothing’s going to change. Gathering together is simply useless. The only possible option is actual clashes against the police, and I don’t mean beating them up. Erdoğan is the king now. It doesn’t matter whether he declares this or not. He will never lose any election since all the elections are rigged, and everyone knows that. Either revolution or nothing and God knows Turks have no revolutionary consciousness to overthrow the system. Peaceful transition is possible of course but Turks are too lazy for that shit. Bank run, strikes all over the country, destroying roads are some other possible options, but no one is gonna do that.

hiçbir bok olmuyor bu sizin suçunuz son 8 yıldır Erdoğan’i seçen sizin suçunuz ülkenize gelen her kötü şeyi hakediyorsunuz bu kişiyi yukarda tutan sizsiniz. Ülkenizi kendiniz yok ettiniz.

    6. Good for them, but slow down with the Turkish posts on r/europe. Turkey is not a European country

We had massive protests in Turkey, Hungary, Israel, Serbia, Iran, Belarus, hell even China had some during covid, all in the last decade.

Literally nothing changed. Unless you get Military or some part of the Government (with police) on your side I feel like its impossible to force a change in government just from the streets.

Which makes the entire notion of “color revolutions” even more hilarious, but blaming any protest on the CIA is just too good of an excuse for autocrats not to use

Would they ALL also turn up during elections (when it actually matters) and vote him out?
