I knew it was the ~~Russians~~ ~~Iranians~~ ~~French~~. Even when it was the feckless management, I knew it was them.

We need to change how we incentivise and monitor our management class. Right now the only incentives that they have are budget targets and arbitrary kpi’s and they all look like sticks with no carrot.

    4. Typical short term thinking in business to save a few quid. We have a real lack of long-term thinking and decision making in the U.K. in both a business sense and, more evidently, in the public sector.

I thought this was hybrid warfare? A lot of newspapers started speculating on Russian origins.

*”But in the absence of information immediately after the fire, Britain’s raucous tabloids were ablaze with speculation about Russian sabotage: “****If Russia was behind Heathrow fire, is that an act of war?” The Telegraph wondered in an op-ed headline.*** *British radio presenter Nick Ferrari asked listeners jokingly whether anyone had seen* [*Russian President Vladimir Putin*](https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/trump-administration/live-blog/trump-putin-jfk-files-ukraine-israel-gaza-doge-live-updates-rcna196779)*.*

*On social media, users pointed to patterns of sabotage by Russia, while others argued the fire was part of a broader strategy of hybrid warfare.”*

    8. Same reason why bridges collapse, cable cars fall to the ground, trains derail, rivers flood, etc.

Preventative maintenance is expensive so why do it?

All hail the true God: capitalism.

FFS is there a single national infrastructure that we can actually be proud of and isn’t held together with sticking plaster and gum?
