      >A manager at Circle K allegedly told an employee “come on, be a man” when insisting that he supervise a homeless man to clean up his own faeces from a toilet at a Dublin outlet.

“Be a man” of course being code for “that’s your place so shut the fuck up and get on with it”?

Can’t help wondering if it was a male manager and had said “be a woman” to a female worker would the award be higher.

      > In response to the claim of harassment concerning the “be a man” comment, Circle K said that without prejudice or admission that this comment was made, that even if those words were used, they were merely a figure of speech rather than an act of discriminatory treatment, simply referencing the fact that he is indeed a man.

That’s a gas cunt of an argument. “oh they said an expression we all understand to have a specific meaning, but they didn’t mean that”

They were just saying “be as swift as a coursing river”

    4. Whoa, a whole €1k!! That’s totally going to deterr them from behaving exactly the same way in the future

Ah yes, if it’s dirty, dangerous or hard, then ‘be a man’ and do it because she can’t or won’t. Tale as old as time.

I’m sorry but the shit people sue over these days is just mental. If this is the bar I could sue over things I hear at work just about every day in my industry.

The manager sounds like a right cunt tbf but just tell her get fucked and that’s not part of your job description ffs.

We’re turning into America. A soft bunch terrified of words that think everything needs to go to court

Blatant misandry should be treated the same as blatant misogyny.

Only right – he shouldn’t be getting the shit end of the stick (literally) just because he’s a bloke.

What happened in the bathrooms was disgusting but the question has to be asked – why was he assigned that task? Was it just because he’s a man? That’s misandry. I doubt it was in his job description.

I’d love to know how many times the judge fucked up the claimants name

    11. Well…turns out he was man enough to get his right in court, good for him….
