    1. If most countries are far past 100%, how is the overall not at 100% yet?

How is any of that that calculated?

Honestly, it’s ridiculous that we even need to *fight* for something like this. Killing digital libraries, erasing access to games people paid for, and pretending it’s ‘progress’, it’s corporate greed dressed up as innovation. Enough is enough.

    3. To all citizens of the EU, there is less than a month left of signature collection for the Stop Killing games initiative in the European Union. While we’re on track to beating the 1 million goal, we need a buffer of at least 20% to ensure we don’t lose after false signatures are accounted for.

This is a “European Citizens Initiative”, that if it succeeds, will require the European commission ***by law*** to explore the feasibility of commissioning a law. If it is found to be feasible (it is very much feasible), a law will eventually be drafted in dialogue with industry & the people in Europe. So if you’re worried about indie game developers & such, a final law would be take such things into account

I’m pointing this out cuz early on in this initiative, Thor (aka PirateSoftware) spread a huge amount of misinformation about the campaign & it’s goals, dealing a huge win for the AAA games industry.

In its core, this campaign is about the right to ownership of the games you buy, & the illegality of publishers ”selling” games to us, & later removing our ability to play them

I hope you would all sign this & spread the word wherever you can. we’ve already beaten the record for the amount of countries that have reached their thresholds. But it would be an historic win if we can get all 27 countries to reach their thresholds. so campaign hard!

love seeing it! The thing is we don’t know how many of the 1Mio. needed signatures are valid at the end. Som minors, fraudulent or otherwise invalid votes can be mixed in it. To be safe 1.2 Mio or more would be the better goal, but its looking great so far. A win for consumer rights! 😀

The fact that basically all countries reached / will reach the threshold is honestly insane, I don’t think this has happened for other EU citizen initiatives. It sends a clear message to the EU legislators, it’s a lot of people across all EU countries that demand change.

Love this, I feel like Charlie’s and Ross’s videos really did wonders, shame on PirateSoftware for doing so much damage to the petition

Fucking idiotic. Europeans once again show they don’t have any understanding or respect for law and economics.

15 years ago, the EU’s economy was as big as the US’s. Since then, the EU has been lagging behind enormously. In 15 years, India could very well surpass the EU in economic power – and Europeans have no one to blame but themselves.

Our continent is becoming a fucking museum economy.

I’m simply commenting to hopefully throw some more firewood on the algorithm, good luck!

Come on Malta, Luxemburg and Cyprus, don’t pull your legs!

I have 500 friends in EU countries, and I wrote to every single one that likes games, to help support the initiative . I am doing my part!

Honestly crazy turnaround in the last few weeks. 10k to go make sure to get the word out there people!!

Can I say that I am kinda proud about my homeland? 440% of the requirement. When it comes time to debate in parliament, I can confidently send messages to our MEPs about how much we Finns actually care about this. That this is not some “well some minority cares”.

We are at 99% now. The final stretch.

    13. SunsetSlacker on

Wow, almost 100k in a day! This has really taken off. A thought it was doomed a week ago when it had only reached 500k and there was just a little over a month left.

What are these numbers and why are they >100% in summary?

    15. verifi_nightmode on

Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Malta, Cyprus and Slovenia. We are no longer friends.

    16. lucavigno on

Hoping we can get more than 100%, since some votes may be invalidated.

I wanted to ask why is Luxembourg so low.

But on a second thought, I never met someone from Luxembourg. I don’t hear any news from Luxembourg.

I’m pretty sure it doesn’t even exist in real life.
