If you’re a citizen of the USA, now is the time to write/ring/email your Congress person/ Senator. If there is a strong showing of support for Ukraine (freedom, democracy etc the things the US says they stand for) maybe the White House will have to supply some level of equipment/intelligence. If the White House can Sept away from supporting Ukraine then it’s a signal that allies not matter can no democracy can reply on US support (… and before anyone says it, I’m aware the US record of supporting democracies in Asia and South America is less then stella, but it’s less worse then Russia or China, especially now).
I don’t know why they’re surprised, if in fact they are. The Trump has been headed in this direction from day 1 and it’s going to get worse.
I believe they’ve been discussing and planning all possibilities since he won the election as shown by the new EU defense pact and increased spending. He’s made it clear he’s open to invading an EU country and threatened Canada. He’s more likely to sell arms to Russia in the near future.

If you rely on America youre usually lost like most their allies were in the past.
Some people in the know brought up that the US braces for a clash most likely with China over Taiwan and wants to refill their Stocks and thus wont even sell the Stuff to other countries so they can hand it over to Ukraine.
I think there was a report lately where the Navy said they need lot more Rockets.
And since Trump whos keen on receiving a peace nobel price always goes America first i wouldnt be suprised if he decides to keep what they have in case they go to war themselfs.
And that is we in all theses years Europe should have stepped up its production big time instead of relying on the US, especially after Trump came to power.
Were Still at a hand full of SAMP/T systems per year and not even 10 Iris-T plus the rockets for the Systems, there really needs to be done, give the industry big contracts and they will produce liek mad, as long as they only sell small batches they wont start a huge production.
Just to compare, Cold War era Leos were built by the hundred each year while these days we are at like 1-2 per month…

Americans have to chose, whether they are russians or Ukrainians. Run Putin’s puppet out of office or get used to saying: “I don’t follow politics.” I’m not convinced they can break the bonds of complacency.
And Europe must realize, America no longer has our backs, infact our backs are now exposed. If you’re not bracing for the worst case, you’re coasting on hopes and prayers.
