President Trump has agreed to “strengthen” Ukraine’s air defences, President Zelensky has said, hours after Kyiv suffered the heaviest aerial barrage of the war.
The two leaders spoke on Friday as Ukraine tried to reverse the suspension of US military aid.
“President Trump is very well informed, and I thank him for his attention to Ukraine,” Zelensky wrote on X after the call.
“We spoke about opportunities in air defence and agreed that we will work together to strengthen protection of our skies.”

I think there is an assumption that Trump is in charge, whereas the decisions at the Department of Defense are being made by Hegseth regardless of what anyone else wants.
Trump isn’t even all together here mentally any more, much like Ronald Reagan’s second term, and it really doesn’t matter what he wants anymore or doesn’t want at the moment.
