Hopefully they can find another backer, but it’s a tough ask.

Ah shit, I knew they had publishers pull the plug on a game but I didn’t realise it meant the end of the company altogether. Hope everyone lands on their feet.

Now we are never going to get Daikatana 2.

Ah Jesus, that is awful news.
I had always liked the fact that JR had moved to Galway and set up a successful enterprise there. It was really something to have one of the guys who created the modern FPs as we know it move to the west of ireland and set up shop here.
Hopefully they find another publisher but at such short notice this will probably be a big undertaking. Shit.

That’s sad. I just finished reading John Romero’s autobiography, Doom Guy, which is really interesting and he briefly talked about the new game he was working on at the end. Sad to see it go down like this.

Had no idea the company is Irish based. Been hearing this news for a day or two now and no one seemed to mention that. I hope all affected can land on their feet in some way.

Seriously, fuck Microsoft. In a single, careless swipe, a whole Irish company put out of business because Microsoft execs aren’t able to plan more than five weeks in advance apparently.

John and Brenda are the nicest people you’ll meet. And they love Galway. This is very sad.

Yeah this is on Microsoft/Xbox. The canned a bunch of stuff this week that didn’t just affect their own employees but companies like John and Brenda’s too.

Job losses aside, I think the world’s children can do without another first person shooter game.
