Today, July 5, a peaceful rally called “Without You, I’m Like Yellow Without Blue” took place in the center of Kyiv in support of prisoners of war and those missing in action.
Relatives and friends of prisoners of war and missing soldiers, as well as regular people, gathered at Independence Square in central Kyiv.
Halyna joined the rally to support her husband. He served in the Pokrovsk direction and has been considered missing since December 9, 2024. As of now, she has no further information.
“The last time I spoke with my husband was the evening of December 6, 2024. He told me they were going out on a mission — maybe for 10 days, maybe longer — and that he wouldn’t have any connection. He said he’d call me himself. We said goodbye, and he told me, ‘As long as you pray for me, I have wings on my back. I’m not cold,’”
Nataliia is waiting for her son Vladyslav, who served in the 71st Brigade and is considered missing in action.
“There is absolutely no information about him. He disappeared in Kurakhove while serving with the 71st. My dear son, we are all waiting for you — your mother, grandmother, brother. Come back, son, I can’t live without you. I need you,” she said.
Veronika’s husband disappeared seven months ago. Officially, he is listed as missing in action, but she believes he is in captivity.
“The command says he’s missing. He’s not listed among the prisoners or the dead. But we have information that he was taken captive. There’s a video showing 16 soldiers surrendering, two of them badly wounded. According to his comrades, my husband was gravely injured. We think that he’s the one being carried in that video,” Veronika shared.
Inna’s father served in the 44th Mechanized Brigade and is also considered missing.
“The brigade hasn’t provided any official information. From the first day he went missing, russian soldiers have been contacting us with contradictory stories, mostly saying he died. But there’s no photo or video proof,” she said.

I weep for the missing and the loved ones waiting to hear from or at least about them. Can’t imagine how painful and heartbreaking it all is. I wish I could say something to help but I have nothing.
