I couldn’t even imagine the sorrow of thinking one of your children were in there. Harrowing.
Hopefully they will get some kind of confirmation of where their family member(s) are and get to see them properly buried now.
Awful sad
Something kind of related came up when talking to my mum a few weeks ago.
I knew she’d had a miscarriage in the late 60s/early 70s, but she never talked much about it.
Told us last week that she was six months pregnant at the time.
We asked what happened the baby.
“I don’t know, they just took it away and that was that”
Note the use of “it”, because she doesn’t even know if the baby was a boy or girl.
