By the end of 2024, Bulgaria’s macroeconomic indicators fully meet the Maastricht criteria for our country’s membership in the eurozone.
… Inflation in our country for the six months from June to November 2024 is below 3%, … The other important indicator for entering the eurozone is the budget deficit. … Our country also currently enjoys historically low unemployment …
Our debt to GDP is almost two times lower than the required criterion… Based on these data, many economists believe … if not in the middle of this year, then certainly at the beginning of next year 2026. Anything else would be a betrayal of the national interest

We gotta keep striving to bring more into the fold, and forge ever closer ties between us.
We unite, or we faulter.

Only if images were allowed on this sub, I’d absolutely demolish Reddit’s servers with pro-EU propaganda that would give r/YUROP a heart attack

Only three more votes remain, all scheduled for the next couple of hours.
Two use QMV, so no surprises there.
The final one, which determines the final exchange rate, requires unanimity in ECOFIN, so there is some theoretical possibility for shenanigans there. But seemingly everyone expects this to pass as well.

Hopefully, it will bring more benefits than drawbacks to Bulgarians.
