The commison only got set up once it was known that kids at private schools were being abused.
Strange they are planning on covering all schools, are they trying to dilute the actions of the religious orders?
5-7 years of work, tens of millions in fees, and no actual prosecutions coming right up.
I in no way believe that the victims of child sex abuse should not have their voices heard, but why bother?
I’m hugely sceptical about the effectiveness of whatever form this Commission of Inquiry will take. If it isn’t comprehensive, if it is limited in scope, if it hampered from acting, if it is not allowed to fully investigate any an all instances, then what is the point? It will only be an expensive washing exercise to appear that something is being done.
We have known about the horrific levels of child sexual abuse in Irish schools by Religious orders for literal decades now and time and time and time again the bare minimum, and often less, has been done to address and issues, prosecute the perpetrators, and compensate and support the victims.
>Further information on the commission’s terms and remit are expected to be announced on Tuesday afternoon.
We’ll see what actual scope it will have, but I’m not convinced.
There are going to be so many lessons that can be learned.
Good
And take the churches labd too
But calling them a nonce is hate speech. Ugh. That gowl of a woman too.
