I’m really hoping an immigrant is nominated for the presidential election. I would take great pleasure in voting for them.

>In a letter attached to the email, Keane said that “over 100 Irish citizens will march peacefully from the GPO to Leinster House under the banner: “The People’s Right to Dissolve the Dáil”.
>The letter sought to “formally demand” that the protesters be given entry.
This is someone who polled at under 2%.
If you want to address the Dáil try appealing to the public outside of the nutcase community.

Anti-immigration protesters again are available for a protest on the afternoon of a working day.

Where were the Gardai in this instance?
Mothers Against Genocide were told they were forcibly removed due to blocking access to Leinster House, is that not clearly what’s happening here and with far more disruption to employees working there?
They had 40 seargents for the Mothers Against Genocide group at 8 am on a Monday morning, they can’t all be on holidays this week.

If those people put as much time and effort into improving their own circumstances as do they into blaming others for them they’d have a lot less reason (and time) to protest.

Maybe they should protest the formation of the EU and the free travel of citizens within. And the UK while they’re vetting everyone.

There needs to be a serious discussion about the number of critical skills people being let into the country – rental sector is beyond a mess

What’s the story with the Guards, where were they? A crowd of 100 people moving from the GPO to Leinster House isn’t exactly inconspicuous.

Western governments’ failure to competently manage immigration and asylum is creating a vacuum which is increasingly filled by hateful fringe actors. It’s not the well-insulated policymakers in leafy suburbs who suffer the consequences, but the ordinary immigrants who work, contribute and integrate. They end up scapegoated, while bad policy and political cowardice go unchecked. This will continue to get worse, unfortunately.

Passed by some of these protestors on my way home from work on Dawson Street. They were drinking cans and smoking weed at 4 in the afternoon…

There weren’t any arrests this time for actually obstruction of the entrance when the daily was in session. Isn’t that weird
