KYIV, 9 luglio (Reuters)-L’Ucraina afferma di aver arrestato due cittadini cinesi sospettati di raccogliere dati sul suo prezioso sistema missilistico anti-nave Nettuno, una parte fondamentale delle capacità di difesa domestica di Kiev.
In una dichiarazione, il servizio di sicurezza dell’Ucraina (SBU) ha dichiarato di aver arrestato un ex studente di 24 anni a Kiev dopo che i documenti tecnici relativi alla produzione di Nettuno gli sono stati consegnati. Era stato espulso da un’università tecnica nel 2023 per scarsa prestazione accademica, ma era rimasto in Ucraina.
La SBU ha successivamente arrestato suo padre, accusato di aver pianificato di passare i documenti all’intelligence cinese. Sebbene con sede in Cina, aveva visitato l’Ucraina “per coordinare personalmente” le attività di suo figlio.
Un funzionario ucraino ha detto a Reuters che si ritiene siano i primi arresti di spie cinesi dall’invasione della Russia del 2022.
Il missile Nettuno costruito in Ucraina ha attirato per la prima volta l’attenzione internazionale affondando la foggetta russa della flotta del Mar Nero Moskva, e da allora è stato usato contro altri obiettivi russi.
Entrambi i sospetti sono accusati ai sensi della parte 1 dell’articolo 114 del codice penale (spionaggio) dell’Ucraina e che affrontano fino a 15 anni di confisca in prigione e attività.

God I hate the ccp.. They have become incredibly powerful by stealing and copying whatever they can in the world. What a mediocre mindset to have.
So we’ve got Russia, Iran, North Korea (as chinese proxy) and now China openly or semi-openly dogpiling on us – not counting mercs from Laos, african states and other bumfuck-nowhere countries.
On the other hand, we have the US barely sending us 10 Patriot missles after a pretty big scandal, and Germany still edging on the Taurus decision like the crustiest coomer in the world in front of their PC.
I’m sorry guys, I understand the real scope of Western aid (not only military – housing and integrating our refugees probably wasn’t easy), and I’m very thankful.
But still, this just feels painfully and frustratingly unjust. Like a bad script of a movie – the one that makes you scream “Bullshit, this would never be the case in the real world!”
And yet it is.
Chinese, Korean, Laos.. European need to realize these threats.
