I’d be happy if they just appeared in Ukraine without any special announcement or fanfare.
I’d also be happy if the German government actively and proudly announced their appearance in Ukrainian arms.
This debate about being considered a party to the war is useless. Our own definition of this is irrelevant anyway and in Russia’s view we have been in a war with them for decades. This is something that historians can argue about later but for now the only relevant questions are: What is our goal, what are we going to do to achieve it and how will Russia react.
Russia won’t dare attack Germany because of just this… NATO article 5 would kick in.
Even if Russia thinks Trump/US being unreliable, he still won’t attack Germany because theres still the EU defensive pact which would kick in.
