So basically all models will be trained outside of EU, as training them here will be incur additional costs, and since most models are US/China based anyway, it’ll just make a bunch of money for lawyers that will be now required to work with Mistral.
Does it really make sense to take moral high-ground, if it makes our market less competitive, while we don’t even have any market leaders locally?
So, no one will train AI in the EU then? Also i don’t know how can you reliably track that, what is the meaning of “going off the rails”? How do you measure it? It’s like saying “measure effectively and track anger outbursts in the population” how can you do it automatically?
Man, gotta say, IDC what the tech giants think. EU’s just looking out 4 us, privacy ftw! These companies treat users like cash cows, it’s high time we turn the tables
We value transparency,” says Big Tech — until someone actually asks them to be transparent
Tech giants: “We can’t possibly track every time our AI goes off the rails.”
Also tech giants: “Our models are so safe we don’t need regulation.”
