**Polish oil and natural gas giant Orlen has marked the cutting of its last tie to Russian crude with an upbeat advert.**

The online ad shows two men, a gas station attendant and customer at a filling station. The attendant tells the customer, in a cheerful manner, that the fuel is now “better,” as it did not come from Russia.

Orlen’s last binding contract for Russian oil deliveries, signed with Russian energy company Rosneft 12 years ago, [expired on June 30](https://tvpworld.com/87557046/polands-key-energy-company-ends-russian-oil-imports). That saw Orlen officially ending oil imports from Russia to its Litvínov refinery in the Czech Republic, cutting its last tie to Russian crude.

“The money spent on Russian oil will not be used against those it shouldn’t be used against,” Orlen CEO Ireneusz Fąfara said at a press conference on Monday, adding: “People in Ukraine will not die for money from Russian oil.”

Russia’s [oil and gas revenues](https://tvpworld.com/87682329/russias-economy-buckles-under-war-pressure-) account for 30% to 50% of the country’s total federal budget revenue.
