It’s a fair point. I know that there are technological solutions to this nowadays but I dont think it’s reasonable to expect a pensioner trying to do their weekly shop to use translation services on a smartphone.
Maybe it’s not unreasonable to expect that taxi drivers have a basic command of english before issuing them a license
Maybe a lot of their customers don’t speak English that well.
