What the hell are they doing this is crazy.
He just bought Putin some time. What he spent for it is what we all want to know.
If we want to entertain the possibility of Trump actually doing something 50 days from now, the deadline gives Putin the rest of the summer to push as hard and as fast as he can to put himself in the best possible position for peace negotiations (probably trying to get to the administrative boarders of the oblasts).
It’s really not great because the eastern front is in a very difficult spot right now and giving Putin that big of a window means that russia has the opportunity to make some very serious gains.
So to my mind, this is basically a greenlight from the US to do whatever as long as russia can wrap it up by the deadline, by which point Putin will again start talking some BS about negotiations and the deadline will just be moved back further and further.

The most likely outcome is in the next fifty days Russia will lose another 54,000 men, 140 tanks 315 APVs,`1900 artillery systems, 30 mlrs, 8500 drones , 260 cruise missiles , 5000 trucks and 30 pieces of special equipment. That is a good sized war right there and will probably move the front lines just a few meters and that might be in the Eastern direction.
