Can this country commit to something that isn’t sticking it’s thumb up it’s own hole?

AKA after the next election. Just cancel it if you don’t want to do it, lads.

Pathetic surrender to the industry.

So add this to the reform of licensing/extended hours for clubs being largely dropped, and changes to speed limits being slow walked. You can disagree with these things, but they are nominally things the government said it wanted to do. Ministers announced them.
If they come out with the National Development Plan review and decide to defer a bunch of projects we really will have a government that doesn’t seem to have an interest in doing much at all.

Alcohol causes cancer, that’s the warning they want to keep away. Its fucking disgraceful they are blaming Trump’s tariffs.

Excellent news. A similar row back on MUP would also be widely welcomed.

In the future, the alcoholic beverage industry will be viewed in the same light as big tobacco.

Everyone is going to be so shocked when they find out alcohol is bad for them.

How was this expected to work in a pub setting? Like did they want a warning on the pint glasses as well?
I suppose no one can afford to drink enough pub alcohol for it to be harmful these days!!!

It’s bad for me? For fucks sake why wasn’t I told this before I went on a 2 week long bender??????

Great news for Alcohol Action Ireland. They’ll have another reason to exist and keep the government funding coming in for another 4 years.

People getting paid to give so much thought to this nonsense is absurd.

MUP is grand because it only eats into the pockets of Irish citizens
But these labels have to be delayed because they might eat into the revenue of Diagio et al. at this ‘difficult economic time’.

Drinking is bad for me? I never would’ve guessed. I drink anyway, because the alternative is worse.
It’s the things that I don’t know are bad for me that I want labelled.

We’ve known alcohol is bad for you for thousands of years we don’t need a label to tell us.
