The UK shows the Coat of Arms of the City of London, not the entirety of London.
The closest one would be the coat of arms of the Greater London Council that was disbanded in 1986, and that would be replaced by the Greater London Authority in 2000.
It was being discussed earlier in the year that the Greater London Authority readopts the GLC’s coat of arms.
Ankara didn’t do the assignment on time but cobbled something together just before the map was made.

There’s some inconsistency in the choice. In some the author chose only the shields and went with the ceremonial (greater) versions in other, here’s Warsaw for example:

The City of London isn’t the capital of the UK. It’s probably more accurate to use the logo of the Greater London Authority or City of Westminster coat of arms because Westminster is the seat of British government.
