      > “Nigel Farage will tell you about all the problems, but when you ask him about his answers, he’s just got nothing to say.”

I get the impression his answer is “nudge, nudge, wink, wink, you know what we are going to do, we just can’t say it…yet”

They are two cheeks of the same arse. No actual solutions, playing to a section of the electorate they need.

Also, as a side note, if Ed criticises the Kabul pull out one more time, my head might explode. As if we had any choice in the matter.

Not the main point but I’ve grown tired of “[nation] style” as a justification. The whole Australian style points system that was relentless. Voters don’t know what Swedish budgets look like. Just explain why it’s purportedly good.

    4. Swedish style budgets mean lower earners pay more in taxes!!

If you think it’s expensive living here now, try Sweden.

Sweden has some of the highest income tax rates in Europe

I don’t understand any of this.

I am not what you would call educated, but if I can look up what a Snake-oil salesman is, and see a picture of Nigel Farage next to it; then why can’t anyone else?

Simon Reeve’ most recent docs on iPlayer will hopefully enlighten you to the Swedish living situation. They all seemed to be happier than any UK person but it’s hard to tell from one show.

But of course now it has been mentioned only the negative comments will rise to the surface of the pond that is the internet or in this case Reddit.

All I can say is I’ve been to Sweden a lot for work and everyone does seem to be more positively minded than us Brits.

Debating budgets would be a terrible idea – the disability bill proved that. They would only ever vote for more spending and vote down any tax rises or spending cuts. Ending up with  unbalanced budget.

UK MPs are incapable of understanding consequences and compromise.

It’s always just Jam today and Jam tomorrow.

    10. Funny that he tries to label Reform as snake oil salesmen. I remember the Lib Dems as snake oil salesmen, given that as soon as they got into government they immediately sold all their promises down the river in order to try and swing self-interested electoral reform.
