      >Her father Stuart Field, 47, said his daughter was left ‘embarrassed’ and had no idea what she’d done wrong

Well, good job she won’t get any further embarrassment from the reaction to this

    2. Those damn Muslims threatening teachers about cultural issues……..

    3. The dad seems like a grifter. She is giving a speech at a Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon event.

I don’t think that’s the British culture we want.

Is this different to the school teacher that went into hiding in Batley?

Hats off to Courtney for mastering compo face at only 12 years old!

More broadly this is literally one of the most idiotic stories I’ve ever had the misfortune to read. Nearly everybody involved is a cretin.

School holds a “cultural day” but bans the cultural expression of the country where the fucking school is.

Family decides to sponge off the press and make a big deal out of it. Despite daughter clearly not actually giving a shit.

Right wingers start threatening violence over something so ridiculous that should be met with an eye roll.

School closes so kids don’t get an education.

Well done everybody! Great work! Morons all round.

So the far-right in Epping attacked a school, and another school is being targeted by the far-right

    7. I can’t help but feel like this is the exact chain of events her dad wanted to milk this for all it’s worth

So many lefts and rights everyone is a bit bruised and battered.

Goes to show having a bit of common sense and holding back a bit would have made you seem the winner.

    9. Culture != Politics designed to incite a reaction.

      The far right are exhausting

Seems the big men are the threatening school teachers who are mostly women. Hate foreigners, love intimidating women.

    11. Hyperbolicalpaca on

That’ll help a young schoolgirl won’t it, threatening to attack it, screwing over all the other kids…

    12. General_Membership64 on

How has the entire senior leadership team at this school been outplayed by a Tommy Robinson fan who appears to be permanently in high Viz? 😂

    13. BlondBitch91 on

Personally I think the dress is fine – its Geri Halliwell’s dress from 1997 at the height of Cool Britannia, and since we don’t have a national costume, that seems like a pretty good one to choose to represent British culture. And if the staff objected to this I think they were pretty silly to do so.

The fact she was giving some sort of “speech” raises my eyebrows a bit, and makes me wonder what the content of that was – the fact they’ve now got her speaking at a Yaxley-Lennon event gives me a good idea and that’s not the sort of British culture we want to promote.

Everyone continuing to have a normal one over this, I see

I really love that this is the society we’ve all cultivated, left or right everyone is to blame for this shit.

      Well don’t everyone 👍

Water was chummed, bait taken. FFS, the school is stupid for making a thing about this. Had they turned a blind eye to it, none of this would have been stirred up at all. Heads and dep heads need training on how not to fall foul of this crap.

    17. Dog_Murder_By_RobKey on

All of this could of been avoided if her dad just had her dress as Graham Gooch

    18. Suddendeath777 on

The dad has seen £££ signs off the back of this story going viral and is determined to piggyback off this for as long as he can.

This will be old news by Monday, he’s probably thinking up more stunts to drag it out until he gets a spot on GB News or he can start a YouTube auditing channel harassing security guards.

    19. Longjumping_Stand889 on

This incident feeds off the paranoia some people have about British culture, both for and against. Jumping to a conclusion of it being racist to show the flag and the community who feel threatened responding just like other communities have done recently. It’s fascinating to see it play out.

    20. Capital-Wolverine532 on

Seems like there’s an extremist in a position of authority IN the school

    21. What a scumbag this fella is, i guarantee this isn’t the first time he has exploited his daughter to make money.

    22. cococupcakeo on

An eye roll at a 12 year old would have sufficed for this whole scenario. The school left itself wide open for negative judgement here. Shows a complete lack of political awareness by those that work there.

    23. heelee92 on

From the supposed speech at the bottom of the article “But it can feel like being British doesn’t count as a culture, just because it’s the majority.”

I cant fathom this coming out a 12-yr olds mouth for some reason.

    24. Weird how when Muslims are issuing death threats it’s an example of how the country is going down the pan, but when the righty-whiteys do it, ‘its just just defending my freedoms innit’

    25. grrrranm on

I very much doubt it! Patriotic people don’t threaten schools or teachers unlike the left or the extreme religious right.

I’ve been learning a lot about the escapades of Hope Not Hate and how they operate in the country. They’re basically a propaganda organisation for the UK government, putting out false stories to control the narrative. To me, this feels exactly like that.

      ‘School enforced uniform policy’

Dad spins this into far right ragebait.

People are now being threatened with violence.

Child pushed into media spotlight ( exploitation, indoctrination )

Dad gets to be king shit at far right events and gets free pints

This whole thing is as deep as a puddle.

Someone needs to make a MASH phonecall and a Prevent referral.
