Will they be spending it on more objections to housing?

How do they determine the value of houses?

Why does Dublin have to bear this? We already have higher living costs. Our tax money sustains every other single county

Cunts. What does we get, fuck all. And charged for it.

I think that’s how taxes work.

Ah shut up and bring your cans back peasants, we’re gonna fix it all by making tiny apartments for €500k each

It’s probably one of the only forms of a wealth tax we have here in Ireland.
Interesting to see our apparent left wing parties, Sinn Féin and PBP, oppose it still. Where else would you see a left wing party *oppose* wealth taxes.

It’s a tiny, tiny amount of tax compared with property taxes elsewhere.

Regular houses aren’t subjected to the same proportional LPT increases as people with “mansions”. It’s literally a case that those people with such houses *will* pay more than others with smaller houses.

As a homeowner in Dublin I can say: finally, thank you!

According to David McWilliams, Dublin generates €40.9bn in tax annually – over half of the country’s total.
Dublin City council gets an annual budget of around €1.5bn.
The city raises around 26 times more than it is given to spend on itself.
This is because we have a centralized tax system.
Now I’m not saying that wee towns that don’t generate much shouldn’t get some funding from the big smoke, but maybe the current arrangement is a bit off balance?

The rich can afford it. It wont affect their lifestyle and mental health whatsoever. The middle class and working class will feel it for sure. Gg.

Should abolish all taxation.

I massively dislike the property tax most Irish only one home and it’s often owned by the bank anyway
This is when inflation for housing is through the roof, we should be taxing mass property owners (but of course, seeing as the Dail is made up of these people) it’ll never happen
I’m sick of this government letting its youth, environment, SMEs, Farmers and infrastructure to rot
It’s actually sickening

If I didn’t have a job but had 2 million euro locked in a savings account that is difficult to access. Am I rich?
In this thread, people are arguing that I’m not, because I don’t have the monthly cashflow of a rich person. Even though I have 2 million euro

Good, now we just need to fully ring fence it.
1. Raise taxes
2. Deliver no value
3. Profit
