I recently watched a video talking about [The Tsarist Regime and Putin’s Common Problem](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5iCRgRGE-0) and the video made an interesting point that Russia needs highly educated people but at the same time wants to suppress the ideas that they might have about democracy, freedom, labour movements, etc.

*Do you find yourself questioning things the Russian state media is telling you about the world? No worries, we got your back! Now it is illegal to search conflicting information about these things online. You don’t have to question them anymore. We’ll jail you if you do. You’re welcome!*

      >New Russian law criminalizes online searches for controversial content

Controversial content in Russia: I don’t like Putin and I’m against war.

    4. In a few years we’ll probably have a similar law in the EU, to “prevent child porn” and/or “fight terrorism”.

For the sake of the children, of course. You’re not a pedo/terrorist, so there’s no reason to oppose this, right?
