Documents obtained by the outlet reveal that the Kasner Charitable Trust (KCT) donated 5.7 million British pounds (almost $8 million) to the Bnei Akiva Yeshiva High School in the village of Susya in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, where an illegal settlement was established in 1983.
The funds were channeled via a conduit charity called UK Toremet.
The school’s budget increased significantly due to the donations, resulting in a rise in the number of students, employees, and settlers in the Susya settlement in general.
“The school is likely the largest single source of employment in the settlement, and constitutes one of the main elements of the entire settlement’s existence,” Israeli settlement expert Dror Etkes told *The Guardian*.
In 1986, Israel forcibly displaced the Palestinian village of Khirbet Susya, on which the illegal settlement was built, after declaring the area an archaeological site.
Palestinians still located in the area continue to be attacked and displaced by settlers until now, as the settlement has continued to expand.”
Charitable status for ethnic cleansing seems a bit off.
