Wealth inequality is one of the biggest causes of criminal activity, regardless of where people are from.
As a species, across the whole world, we really need to start taxing billionaires more and using those funds to improve public services. That will reduce crime an awful lot more than just banning foreigners will

If they compared the crime rates of asylum seekers vs regular population that might have made some sense, but I don’t see that they did.
I absolutely don’t understand why our government still keeps them when they commit a crime.
They came here illegally so what do we expect.

What a total non-headline. May as well say people might commit crime and leave it at that. I’m not reading the article because I’d rather use a spoon to remove my own eyes than click a Daily Mail link but taking their claim here at the most generous of 999 people _accused_ of crime out of the population in migrant hotels of about 30k (according to Google/full fact) it actually shows they commit _less_ crime then the overall population of England and Wales so… Yeah, sod off Daily Mail with your usual, poorly informed, hate.
Cant say anything about it because otherwise its racist to state facts about certain groups
I remember:
– the Tories abolished all safe routes and asylum processing into the country after Brexit.
– the average Tory donor owns lots of buildings, like shabby hotels and accommodation blocks ideal for housing people leaving or fleeing countries with no paperwork in the UK.
– the conservatives have a track record of creating schemes that filter public money into private hands.
The Tories made this mess. I’m staggered Labour haven’t done more to remedy this, but I still blame the conservatives for all these problems.

I think I read something about them being Somali, and that they had to close their doors to them because of all the troubles. It was a big deal in England.
It’s kind of boring now. Everyday we see these headlines and everyday the gov doesn’t fix the problem and instead add more fuel to the fire.

Why cant they be housed in secure units if they are accused of committing a crime? And application instantly denied if they are found guilty?
Considering we have an international agreement to accept refugees however they enter the country, there’s no such thing as illegal immigrants.
What makes them illegal is them not being granted entry. And why are they not granted entry? Because the processing of claims and stuff are extremely long as a result of the Tories not doing what is necessary.
So they made it impossible to come here legally, claimed any route other than what they deem acceptable to be illegal, and then stoked racist rhetoric to turn people against them.
Almost as if, without any reasonable way to control who comes the country, you know, legally and accessible, it leaves room for ANYONE to enter.
Let’s build a floating offshore settlement facility off the south coast of England and that’s where everyone is processed and housed till their claims are assessed.
