It’s such a British fuck up that we have a shortage of nurses (and doctors, radiographers etc) on rotas up and down the country but also have nurses (and doctors, radiographers etc) who can’t find jobs, but also are aggressively recruiting these staff groups from abroad.
Same applies to nurses too.
Imagine spending £millions of public money on training people with no jobs to find.
We have low numbers of nurses, physio, radiographers, midwives, HCAs and an ABUNDANCE of doctors.
Yet, our government is happy to “upskill” from the above professions and turn them into makeshift doctors.
Make of that what you will.
They like to import nurses from India as they see their training as equal.
If you’ve visited a hospital and had the pleasure of an Indian nurse in the past few years you’ll know their training is not equal to the British training. It’s like night and day versus the British trained nurses.
