Quindi mi sto trasferendo nel nuovo posto entro il 1 ° agosto e stavo pianificando di spostare le mie cose in anticipo perché devo pulire il mio appartamento attuale prima di consegnarlo. Quello attuale non ha alcun deposito. Così ho chiesto al marito del mio nuovo padrone di casa se riesco a ottenere l’accesso al nuovo appartamento in modo da poter iniziare a spostare le cose dal mio posto attuale come eravamo d’accordo. Ora chiede il deposito e l’affitto in anticipo ha consegnato le chiavi.
È normale? Perché la maggior parte dei norvegesi ho incontrato rispetta l’accordo per parola e né io o loro non ci si dissuadiamo a vicenda. Forse sto pensando troppo.
Abbiamo già concordato un deposito di tre mesi e tre mesi di preavviso, quindi non è un problema. Ma chiederlo in anticipo mi ha fatto presumere che non si fida di me. Il primo giorno non si stringe la mano ma non si urta. (😝 Forse non è niente, ma ora mi viene anche in mente)

This is 100% normal behaviour.
Problem is, if he gives you the keys – and then you dont pay – he cant throw you out without involving authorities. This process takes time. A lot of people know this, and takes advantage of it.
You have to pay both deposit and first month of rent before receiving any keys or leaving any stuff inside the apartment.
Where on earth could you get keys to a place without handing over payment? What landlord in their right mind would do such a thing?
Would you sell your car to someone hand over the keys and have them say I’ll give you the money in a couple of days! Never.
Mmmm. Expecting to use the apartment before you’ve paid the rent or deposit seems to be taking a bit of a liberty.
If you move your stuff in on the 28th and start paying on the 1st you’re expecting half a week for free. Nothing wrong with asking but the landlord doesn’t seem to be unreasonable in saying no.
So you are telling me the landlord is willing to give u the keys and access 4 days in advance, and on top of that u expect him to do so without getting first rent and deposit? I wouldn’t wanna rent out to you, haha.
You’re overthinking and need to pay beforehand. I wouldn’t normally recommend a credit card loan, but this would warrant it since you can pay it back immediatly. Hope you have that option.
It is perfectly normal that the deposit and first months rent needs to be paid in full before you receive the keys. To me it seems unusual that you are expecting to receive the keys before making any payments.
Handing out keys before payment is a huge risk for the owner.
Letting you place your items isn’t as much of a risk, but could be more hassle for them.
Either way, they are not required to let you do anything until payment is done, but some owners would let you do that as a good will gesture, but not required.
