I feel rather bad that when there is a pure good-news story, I can’t think of anything to say.
When something shit happens, I’m all over it :/
There’s been talk of reintroducing these lovely little critters in a forest near me. I really hope they do, but even then the chance of seeing one would be vanishingly small unfortunately. Although, that’s probably a good thing while they re-establish I guess.
I swear I saw one of these in Devon a few months ago. We were driving down a country lane at night and something that looked exactly like a cat sized weasel was walking in front of the car in the headlights for a good distance (we slowed right down so as not to disturb it). My wife was in the car and we both got a good look but it was too dark for pictures. It got up into the hedge safely. I can’t think what else it would be except maybe an otter, although we were no near any waterways. I’ve never seen anything about an introduction program in the sw though
