    5. 18 million within a 50km doesn’t really all that high. I would assume there are several rivers in Europe with more population along it (e.g. the Rhine/Rhein/Rijn).

      This map forgets Linz, another important Austrian city with over 210K people (more than Ulm & Regenbsurg).

    10. Kinda crazy that the upstream Danube is a relatively sparsely populated region of Germany. Well I can think of many even less populated regions but Bavaria is slightly below average and that includes the big cities which aren’t near the Danube.
