They are performers paid to do a job. This person has no right to make a political statement to the audience. I hope they never work on stage again.
The Royal Opera House (of which I am a ‘Friend’ Member and attend 4 or 5 times a year) likes to say that it is committed to political impartiality. Its not really true though as it was pro-Ukraine all the way, blacklisting certain Russian artists and performers ect. Not necessarily wrong, but not exactly sticking to the strict impartiality line either. Either way and politics aside I think this guy is a prick for this, he is not even a principal. Protest the war in your own time, not at work as chorus.
You really do feel like a lot of these individuals are more concerned with if their image will make the illustration insert in a history book or be an “oldschoolcool” twitter post than actually helping their cause.
Why are people so desperate to fly the flag of a country that has an atrocious democratic index, on reports of their civil liberties it was noting multiple extra judicial executions of political opponents, prosecution and imprisonment of political commentators, government sanctioned
death threats and assassinations against their own population, government sanctioned torture, intimation and direct attacks on journalists, religious prosecution and intimidation and well a people that proudly advocate, supporting and trying every possible action to genocide of Israel and the Jewish people.
Weird, you take Israel out the mix and the world would very very actively forget a violent and aggressively intolerant people.
