Of course it wouldn’t, because Russia is likely influencing the ECHR, it’d be daft not to because then it can create decisions that are divisive and sideline issues outside of migration etc.
In the unlikely event foreign powers haven’t infiltrated the ECHR there must be some other cause of its odd behaviour.

There’s a very big difference between ‘we don’t think you need to hold a inquiry’ and ‘you may not hold an inquiry.’

I don’t think there’s any reason we can’t just go ahead and do it anyway. And we bloody well should.

It’s so fucking weird that we’re willing to help Ukraine fight Russia but aren’t willing to do a thing about Russia interfering and assassinating people in our country. Do we have anyone in our government that actually gives a fuck about Britain?

The same ECHR who for 2 decades were fine with the Russian government murdering journalists, politicians and opponents to Putin, blatant government corruption and rigging of elections. It’s not surprising in the slightest.

Even now while Ukrainians are suffering the most horrific and widespread human rights abuses since WW2, the ECHR allowed Russia to simply “withdraw from the convention” without any penalty and in many cases take opposition to other countries trying to impose measures against Russia.

There has always been a very strong ideological bias present in judges that sit in the ECHR.

BJ’s russia report says enough already. We don’t need another inquiry or report – we need some actions taken as a result of what is already known.

Votes to leave the EU were mostly based on promises to reduce immigration numbers and to no longer pay contributions to the EU.

I don’t think either of these were made up by the Russians.

The undermining of democracy doesn’t need to be investigated? Interesting. How do we protect ourselves then?
