Il leader dell’opposizione bielorussa Siarhei Tsikhanouski è stato recentemente rilasciato dalla prigione e sta già parlando di creare zone bielassiche “autonome” in Lituania.

The Soviet Union isn’t coming back. It’s dead and buried.

All so-called “opposition” in russia and belarus (even if they’ve left those countries) are state agents at worst, and useful idiots at best.

He’s right. The Belarussian resistance needs a safe haven in the Baltics now

Honestly, I feel that we’re living in some sort of dystopian timeline. Russia won’t even need war, we’re (Lithuania) going to collapse ourselves.

Institutional corruption being normalised (Lithuanians would know what I’m talking about – prime minister is literally caught being corrupt but is protected by the president), national interests being thrown into the ditch (+150k Russian speaking people from Eastern Ukraine/Belarus/Russia and -stans in 5 years, most of them truck driving or shitty-job migrants), tax changes making no sense and attacking the middle class. And now this. Our national interests are being attacked, yet our taxpayer money is used to protect these dipshits.

And we wonder why these countries don’t have an effective opposition.

This might sound fair, until you look at an ethnic map of Lithuania, there are no Belarusian majority areas. There is a Polish majority in the west of Belarus, so by all means Belarus can make a Polish autonomous region if it wants to do. Oh wait, they only care about minorities to destabilise other countries, and don’t actually care about minorities.

I hope this Belarusian autonomous leader makes a run for it to Poland, which a lot of migrants are already doing, as Belarus and East Libya (Russian vassals) are using migrants to destabilise Europe.

What about… fuck off? Maybe time to show him how prison looks like from inside.

Why he is been released…why dont he go to Putin’s world there he will be noticed…or thrown out of window

    9. Basically, stating that he wants to create colonies in a sovereign country… How did this statement sound alright in his head?

Considering we’re talking about the group the size of a mid sized town spread around a country of multiple milion…

He might get autonomised back in Belarus.
I’m starting to doubt the tsikhanouskis represent the free belarusians anymore, their rally didn’t receive wide attention from their compatriots.

He worded it poorly, but it was picked up and spread both by Russian/Belarusian media and Lithuanian ones as Lithuania do not like Belarusian potential claims for its land.

What he really meant is that Belarusian are spread across Poland/Czechia/Baltic countries and there are no ways to connect with your diaspora as there are no leaders or even any groups that would produce some events as there is a huge risk of getting infiltrated by KGB agents.

If you visit such event and then return back to Belarus (some people are forced to return in case of for example losing a job as the majority of Belarusian migrants are legal migrants on work residence permits, the minority are asylum seekers) you will in 99% get sentenced for quite a long time

If you organize some stuff in large cities and manage to connect people it could create a strong tool to fight Belarusian propaganda and show that people who fled after 2020 are not some drug addicts and criminals – they are depicted that way in state sponsored media

I have been saying for some time now – Lithuania is next if the EU won’t get a grip

He clearly got released from prison on the condition that he’ll sabotage the opposition.

    15. DasistMamba on

He was never the leader of the opposition. He was a little-known blogger who was jailed after being nominated as a presidential candidate. Then his wife went to the polls instead of him and he became famous.

After 5 years in prison, this is a man with compromised physical and probably psychological health.
