Ciao zusammen. Vivo in Baviera e l’estate scorsa e già oggi ho incontrato un calabrone gigante, che vola nel mio appartamento e fa rumore come se avesse un’elica. Hai idea di che tipo di calabrone sia? Google mi dà solo informazioni su Asiatische Hornisse, ma non credo che sembrino tali. Anche il calabrone asiatico sembra essere molto più piccolo di questo tizio. O forse qualcuno ha un’idea se ci sono delle istituzioni in Germania, dove puoi chiedere informazioni?

      Edit:Can’t tell from the picture really, sorry. But for those, catch and release. The Asian one needs to be reported as far as I know.

      There’s is Vespa orientalis (Orientalische Hornisse) , Vespa velutina (Asiatische Hornisse) and Vespa crabro (Hornisse). Yours looks like Vespa crabro.

      The native hornet is a specially protected species due to its acute population threat. It is not permitted to kill them or destroy their nests.

      Can’t tell from that Pic, but probably just a regular European hornet. They are pretty large, but Usually chiller than wasps.

      We had a nest in our attic last year, so had many visitors, but nobody got stung.

      Please be aware that hornets are under the highest protection by law. Killing, injuring and even catching them can lead to a massive fine (up to 50,000 Euros).
