Just shows that when you look at all the different options in the supermarket, they are all really made under the one roof.

Listeriosis is terrifying. Would put me off ever getting a ready meal again

Nothing from Dunnes or Lidl it seems.

My heavily pregnant partner and I have both eaten some of these over the past few weeks. She just had a Tesco curry last night. There’s no date range published, I’ve asked the FSAI and now we wait. Would be an absolute disaster if she gets it, we’re bricking it now 🥲

Pretty ridiculous having this kind of article behind a paywall. “There’s something out there in the supermarkets that could be potentially fatal but we won’t tell you unless you pay us.”

That article shouldn’t be behind a paywall if it’s ongoing. Which food products need to be returned to stores?
Interesting that the happy pear are on there, I thought their thing was that it was all homemade and natural, not mass produced slop.

This after posts about maggots being found in people’s Tesco food shopping 😔

Serious question guys. I eat happy pear many days for my lunch last 2 weeks, and other products from the recall list, including today.
I read this bulletin and it says it can take 3 weeks for the symptoms to develop. Is there some medication I can take to prevent illness or is it unlikely to make me ill if my immunity is OK?

A few months ago I got quite violently ill after eating a ready meal that is on this list from this manufacturer. It was by far the worst case of food poisoning I ever got, I fainted twice, and according to my GP had I not stopped vomiting when I did (after about 7 hours on and off), I would have had to go to the ER to deal with all the loss of fluids. It put me off ready meals completely after that.
It couldn’t have been listeriosis because I got sick about an hour after eating, but it now appears this manufacturer has had ongoing food hygiene issues, which would explain what happened to me.

Actually got sick myself because of a meal from supervalue last night. Explains a lot

Great – had a fall and emergency surgery which has rendered me effectively immobile. For the first time in years, I went and had a few of these meals delivered with the weekly shop to take some pressure off my husband as he’s now 100% handling all household duties, his job, caring for me as if I’m an infant, and thought “sure we’ll save him having to cook, and we can count the calories/nutrition so we know what we’re getting more than a takeaway.”
I guess now I sit and wait! Talk about adding insult to injury…
Most importantly, for people at severe risk and for this poor person and their family, I’m so sorry for this loss and for any future illnesses. Terrible stuff, really.

This is the second time in less than a month the company in question has been subject to an official recall. Stay away from their products.

The huge range of range products from different supermarkets is quite scary. But it’s also a little disappointing that so much stuff is centralised in one manufacturer. Perhaps it’s expected in a small country/economy, but shouldn’t we have more manufacturers? Is there no market/economic feasibility for this?

Wonder if M&S meals are any better? Know they don’t deal with this manufacturer but I reckon all these manufacturers and suppliers are just two cheeks from the one arse.

Here’s the list from FSAI no idea if it’s in the article (I cancelled my sub to the irish times when they were giving nimbys a platform to shit all over the metro): https://www.fsai.ie/getmedia/ae9afb4b-fec2-42e3-98aa-93f8debca508/ballymaguire-recall-list-v3.pdf
