      Seems like _virtually everyone’s happy_.

Foreign policy win number 643 by Starmer. The bloke is shit hot on the international stage – victories all over the place.

I just wish he knew the importance of selling his victories to the UK populace and trying to get them smiling again when good shit happens!

    2. There has already been a fuss in the UK press about the staff transfer part – expect more press comments.

*India has got concessions on easy mobility for its professionals, including contractual suppliers and intra-corporate transferees with dependents.*

*The Double Contribution Convention (DCC) that ensures employees temporarily working in the UK for up to 3 years will continue paying social security contributions in their home country.*

And I wouldn’t call this ‘free trade’ – given tariffs on UK goods to India will reduce but not go tariff free. *Also s*till a 10% tariff and on a limited number of cars allowed from UK to India but looks like tariff free for India to UK, no limit (on electric and hybrid which is all we can buy in a few years).

*Once made law,* ***the agreement will reduce 90% of tariffs on British exports to India*** *that include whisky, cars, cosmetics, salmon, lamb, medical devices, electrical machinery, soft drinks, chocolate, and biscuits.*

***India will get a zero-tariff deal on 99% of its tariff lines, covering nearly 100% of trade value.*** *These include clothes, footwear and food products, including frozen prawns.*

*India will reduce duties from 100% to 10% for a limited number of imports of cars, while Britain will give access to its markets for electric and hybrid vehicles.*

*Scotch whisky … tariffs have been slashed from 150% to 75%*

Wow fantastic – more Indian nationals competing in the already insanely competitive UK tech job market. Just what we need.
