While European companies announce more investments in the US because of the tariffs
Let’s hope for the best , they do the need the turn around desperately.
The downfall of Intel will be studied by economists for decades.
A company that was extremely profitable for three decades might go bankrupt because of its own hubris.
I hope they can recover and continue to make CPU’s and GPU’s. I want real competition, I dont want only an AMD world.
AMD was used to be cheaper, the competitor, now places are switched, and AMD is damn expensive, no point to call them “cheap”.
So yes, I hope Intel recovers fast.

I don’t want Chinese companies to replace Intel.
Instead of investing in R&D, which is the core of its industry, Intel was doing stock buybacks. This is the result.
If Intel defaults, all the AMD fanboys (I like AMD but have no illusions about AMD being the good guys, the CEO is beholden to the shareholders) will be surprised when the next generation of gaming CPU:s cost 700-800 dollars for an 9800 x3d equalient.
It’s crazy how one decision can fuck up your whole company.
Back in 2010, ASML was working on a risky, expensive next generation chip making technology called EUV lithography.
The tech was so capital intensive and uncertain that ASML needed financial help to get the project off the ground.
In a rare move, all of ASMLS biggest competitors invested billions into ASML. Intel, TMSC, and Samsung.
Intel gave the most amount which was around 4 billion dollars.
Once the EUV was finally working well enough for commercial use around 2018, ASML offered the first machines to its major backers.
Intel, despite having invested the most, hesitated. They feared the tech was too unproven for high volume manufacturing.
TMSC on the other hand took the risk.
The decision TMSC made was game changing for them. They became the sole supplier for apples chips among other things.
Meanwhile intel fell behind, struggled, and was never able to catch up.
That one hesitation from intel made TMSC one of the most important companies in the world. Something that the US and China might end up in a war over.
i hope we did not pay in advance the european projects
Not sure if that’s such a good option long-term.
I never thought Intel was a company that would be on life support!
Share holders are a cancer. They demand infinite growth and will oust the lead if they dont suck and blow just as they want.
MBAs fucked up, like they did with Boeing.
