Ah yes, banning a group that attacked police officers and workers with sledgehammers and that damages military equipment violates the human rights of the people doing it. Woe betide we look after the rights of the police not to have their heads caved in and the right of the country to defend itself.

      >Several UN experts, civil liberties groups, cultural figures and hundreds of lawyers have condemned the ban as draconian and said it sets a dangerous precedent by conflating protest with terrorism.

Isn’t conflating violent attacks and sabotage with protesting also a dangerous precedent?

UN has been a joke for years now. An organisation that had Saudi Arabia preside over the women’s rights forum and had Pakistan be the VC for anti-terrorism council has no rights to lecture others.

The eroding of free speech on the UK is deeply troubling. UN are totally right. Only a certain bent of people would disagree.

Why does the UN think their opinion matters?

The only law that is relevant here is British law.
