What about 1934
Im builder i work in Helsinki. We dont have water and power we work for rta. Where i can signal fucking mobing ?
This was the time I started working in construction at a huge steel-frame building with no air conditioning and early morning temp at 30 and humidity at 60%…
It has been interesting, to say the least
It’s been hell.
Concrete boxes designed to keep the heat in + no air conditioning.
Lovely <3 this compensates for June having been cold as hell
Good time to be in the military (kill me)
I’ve been slowly working on my home to have some strats that i used in latin America to keep things nice.
Finnish houses are winterproof but damn they struggle in the heat unless it’s air conditioning.
But in latam we mostly used ventilation.
Adding rejillas is the next step but seems like a pain in these homes because I must find a way to make the large windows removable from the hinges and then put mechanism to prevent water ingress, basically summer specific doors and windows that are just welded metal meshes, they prevent the thief from going in (and the mosquito).
But boy the air flows.
Then you strategically place fans.
But yeah seems like hell of a mod tbh, I’m not so sure, but adding air conditioning seems like hell of a mod too; but with global warming I don’t know what else to do, it will just get worse year after year.
Also, pic taken in northern Norway:

It was much hotter and then I got flashed at 600m altitude for a weird reason; literally took refuge in a basement because the heat was off the charts; but then it went back to 36C the next day.
Just open a window
And every air conditioner is sold out 🫠
I open the weather app every day hoping I’ll see the end of this hell and instead it just keeps getting extended.
I was in Finland a couple of years ago for the summer and it reached 26c for 3-4 days, no wind, no fan in the house, it was miserable then, I’m from Texas so it wasn’t too bad, but the no fan at night is the worse part.
Best advice is invest in a couple of fans and open the windows, portable air conditioner is an option, 11 months out of the year you can roll it to a closet.
Ilmalämpöpumppu gang going strong.
Among my top5 purchases ever.
I can’t wait for winter to arrive when it’s finally cold. This heat is too much for me, haha.
