Don’t forget it’s only political, this project is mostly financing with public funds.
Dassault wants be in charge and not be in project where no one is responsable and taking extra time for doing jackshit.
A good exemple is how they manage the projet Neuron.
On the other hand, the Eurodrone is the perfect exemple of waste of time/money.
From their point of view, the project is taking this way. And Dassault is not as wealthy as Airbus group. It’s clear in that Airbus Germany and Airbus Spain will never be against each other in that project. So for Dassault it’s not fair at all especially if they can not be leader (that the initial plan).
Anyway Dassault will do what the French government wants.

Good; hope that they come to some arrangement that’s acceptable and keeps the project alive. For all that GCAP also exists I think the NGF or something like it is going to be a critical platform for European strategic autonomy, so I don’t want to see FCAS die. Even if France could go it alone or Germany and Spain could pick up other partners, the result would inevitably be a later delivery than the already very late 2045 timeline Trappier is talking about.

This is too much a case of companies determining who gets to work on what. Governments need to get the companies in line.

FYI: OP has a weird one-sided beef with Dassault.
