Is there any bias here on male victims vs female victims?

This seems like a we need a headline story.
The DPP decides if based on the evidence there is a case thay can be prosecuted, if there isn’t enough evidence there is no case.
If I was a right wing grifter I could say 2/3 of sex offense incidents reported by Gardai to DPP are spurious and lacking evidence to go to trial.
Cases require evidence & witnesses, it could be screw ups in guardai chain of custody on evidence, it could be incidents of just two people both claiming opposite stories or unfortunately a historical claim where any evidence has long since timed out.
The more worrying statistics was the 50% conviction rate on rape which seems low given the severity of the crime, youd imagine the DPP would have all their ducks in a row before prosecuting so this statistic means either Rape is too hard to prosecute or the DPP is more aggressive prosecuting it even with a weak case.
