No, this deal is the end of the EU.
The EU is done and will dissolve within a few years.
Quite literally. A framework of a deal has been drafted. But VDL doesn’t have, executive power. We don’t like dictators in Europe* like the US seems to… Bad experiences! But anyway, long time before this even could be ratified. Trump will likely forget the whole thing by then, and demand new negotiations.
*Few caveats do exist. :p

Which is totally true.
Most of what Trump has announced is something that the EU does not have the power to sign on, nor the intention: the EU doesn’t have the power to compel private investors to buy oil or invest in the US.
And in fact, they haven’t signed anything. This was just a conversation followed by a handshake, for the sake of US cameras. The entire exercise is Trump demonstrating to his voters that he can humiliate the EU.
